Get Started with RetenV in Four Steps

A practical walkthrough for connecting Klaviyo, completing your first sync, and learning what each part of the dashboard is showing you.

RetenV connects to your Klaviyo account and builds a revenue attribution dashboard so you can see exactly how much revenue your email marketing drives. This guide walks you through setup and first use.

Prerequisites

  • A Klaviyo account with active campaigns or flows
  • An email address for your RetenV account

Step 1: Create your account

  1. Go to app.retenv.com/register.
  2. Enter your email address, name, and a password.
  3. Check your inbox for a 6-digit verification code and enter it on the verification screen.

Once verified, you'll be taken to the onboarding flow.

Step 2: Tell us about your business (optional)

RetenV asks a few questions about your brand to tailor your experience:

  • Your Business - industry, store type, and monthly revenue range.
  • Your Audience - who your customers are and how you segment them.
  • Email Marketing - your current email maturity and tools.
  • Goals and Voice - what you want to achieve and your brand tone.

You can skip this step and come back to it later.

Step 3: Connect your Klaviyo account

  1. Click Connect Klaviyo on the connection screen.
  2. You'll be redirected to Klaviyo's authorization page.
  3. Review the permissions and click Allow. RetenV requests read-only access to your campaigns, flows, metrics, profiles, lists, segments, templates, events, tags, forms, catalogs, coupons, and images.
  4. You'll be redirected back to RetenV where the initial data sync begins automatically.

The sync pulls in up to 12 months of your campaign and flow data. A progress indicator shows each step as it runs. This typically takes 2-5 minutes depending on your account size.

What data does RetenV access?

RetenV uses 13 read-only OAuth scopes. It never modifies, deletes, or sends anything in your Klaviyo account. See the FAQ for the full list of permissions.

Step 4: Explore your dashboard

Once the sync completes, you land on your revenue attribution dashboard. Here's what you'll see:

Revenue KPI Cards

Four cards across the top showing:

  • Store Total Revenue - total revenue from your primary conversion metric.
  • Klaviyo Attributed Revenue - how much of that revenue Klaviyo takes credit for.
  • Campaign Revenue - revenue attributed specifically to your email campaigns.
  • Flow Revenue - revenue attributed to your automated flows.

An area chart showing what percentage of your total store revenue is attributed to Klaviyo over time. Toggle between 3-month, 6-month, and 12-month views to spot trends.

Best Performing Flows

A ranked table of your top automated flows by revenue. Click any row to drill into the flow detail page, where you can see per-message metrics for every email in the flow.

Recent Campaigns

A table of your most recent email campaigns with key performance metrics.

Optional: Configure your conversion metric

By default, RetenV auto-detects the best conversion metric for your business. To change it:

  1. Go to Settings from the sidebar.
  2. Under Conversion Metric, select your preferred primary metric from the dropdown.
  3. Click Save.

This controls how revenue is calculated across your entire dashboard.

What happens next

RetenV keeps your data fresh automatically:

  • Daily sync - runs every day at 03:00 UTC.
  • Weekly full refresh - runs every Sunday at 02:00 UTC.
  • Manual sync - click the sync button in your dashboard header anytime you want an immediate refresh.
