Answers to the most common questions about RetenV, Klaviyo permissions, data syncing, and revenue attribution.

What Klaviyo permissions does RetenV request?+

RetenV requests 13 read-only OAuth scopes:

ScopeWhat it accesses
campaigns:readCampaign metadata and send history
flows:readAutomated flow structure and messages
metrics:readMetrics catalog and aggregated reporting
profiles:readSubscriber profiles and properties
lists:readSubscriber list names and membership
segments:readSegment definitions
templates:readEmail template metadata

catalogs:readProduct catalog items, variants, and categories
coupons:readCoupon codes

RetenV never requests write access. It cannot modify, delete, or send anything in your Klaviyo account.

How often does my data sync?+

RetenV syncs your Klaviyo data on three schedules:

  • Daily delta sync - every day at 03:00 UTC.
  • Weekly full refresh - every Sunday at 02:00 UTC.
  • Manual sync - trigger an immediate refresh from the dashboard.

The initial sync pulls up to 12 months of historical data and typically takes 2-5 minutes.

How do I reconnect my Klaviyo account?+

If your Klaviyo connection becomes disconnected, RetenV shows a banner at the top of your dashboard. To reconnect:

  • Click Reconnect Klaviyo in the dashboard banner or go to settings.
  • You'll be redirected to Klaviyo's authorization screen.
  • Approve access, and RetenV will restore your connection and run a sync.

Your historical data is preserved during reconnection.

How do I disconnect my Klaviyo account?+

To completely disconnect your Klaviyo integration:

  • Go to Settings.
  • Click Disconnect next to your Klaviyo integration.

This revokes OAuth access and deletes all synced data from RetenV.

What is the primary conversion metric?+

The primary conversion metric is the Klaviyo metric that RetenV uses to calculate revenue across your dashboard. For most e-commerce stores, this is Placed Order.

RetenV auto-detects the best metric when you first connect, and you can change it in Settings > Conversion Metric.

How is revenue attribution calculated?+

RetenV pulls revenue data from two sources in Klaviyo:

  • Store Total Revenue - the sum of conversion event values for the selected date range.
  • Klaviyo Attributed Revenue - Klaviyo's built-in attribution reports for campaigns and flows.

The ratio between these two numbers tells you what percentage of your store revenue Klaviyo is driving.

Why does a KPI card show "unavailable"?+

A KPI card shows an unavailable state instead of zero when the underlying data genuinely cannot be calculated.

  • Reporting not supported for your Klaviyo plan.
  • No conversion metric configured for the account.
  • No data for the period you selected.

RetenV never fabricates zeros. If data is missing, it tells you why.

Is my data secure?+
  • OAuth tokens are encrypted at rest using AES-256.
  • All API communication uses HTTPS/TLS.
  • JWT authentication uses HTTP-only cookies and token rotation.
  • No customer data is shared with third parties.
Can I use RetenV with other email platforms?+

RetenV currently supports Klaviyo only. Support for additional platforms is on the roadmap.
